TREMENDOUS SALES SUCCESS FOR EASTERN COLUMBIA
Kor Development Transforms 1930s Landmark Into Stylish Lofts
Los Angeles, CA - Kor Development's transformation of the landmark Eastern Columbia building is experiencing phenominal sales success as it enters its third and final phase. The opulence and glamour of the 1930s will be transported to the 21st Century with these luxury loft condominiums.
Known for its distinctively designed and trendsetting hotels, such as the Avalon and Viceroy Santa Monica, Kor Development has applied this same expertise to its signature residential portfolio. Together this group of premiere residential addresses is known as the Kor Collection. The Eastern Columbia Lofts are perfect for those who want to feel the pulse of Los Angeles' revitalized downtown and come home to an urban oasis.
"The restoration of this beautiful 1930 Zig-Zag Moderne gem into luxury homes will create a distinctive new community right in the heart of the Fashion District and the Historic Core," said Kimberly Lucero, Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
Inside Eastern Columbia's loft residences, windows stretching up to 14 feet frame vibrant city views. The living spaces, once fashionable showrooms, represent a stylish home base for relaxation, work and leisure. Newly constructed kitchens and baths feature premium appointments made even more luxurious by appliance, fixture and finish upgrade options. Advanced technology, including high-speed Internet access and digital climate control, promise comfort and connectivity.
Eastern Columbia's gracious interiors were conceived by Killefer Flammang Architects and Kelly Wearstler Interior Design (KWID), whose designs for hotels and resorts, as well as residences and offices, receive international attention. The 147 light-filled lofts range from 881 to 3,208 square feet, some with 14 ft. ceilings. The new Eastern Columbia will offer a rooftop pool deck, leisure terrace and fitness studio. The meticulous restoration will also include tile flooring, windows, gold trim and many other details.
"Downtown's Historic Core may be the finest collection of historic buildings in the United States," said Lucero. "We have worked closely with preservation groups, the City of Los Angeles and downtown Los Angeles civic organizations to ensure that the restoration of Eastern Columbia sets a new standard for revitalizing the neighborhood."
Ken Bernstein, Director of Preservation Issues for the Los Angeles Conservancy, supports Kor's approach to transforming the Eastern Columbia building and its other properties.
"Kor Development is creating distinctive new living spaces within buildings such as Eastern Columbia that have a built-in sense of place," Bernstein said. "We should encourage this because people are actively seeking the unique ambience and intact character that Los Angeles' distinctive historic buildings provide."
